York Minster towers
It’s been a long day hanging and labelling in the Refectory at Southwark Cathedral… Here are a few more pictures to give you a taste. Of course my measly pixellated online images here don’t do them justice, and there are dozens more to see, so for the full effect please do come and visit the show and see all of them mounted, framed and lit. They have a pretty amazing selection of home-made cakes there too so treat yourself to a brownie or cream tea, and maybe a picture!
Opening times: 26th September – 5th November 2012
Monday – Friday 9am-6pm,
Saturday & Sunday 10am -6pm
Prices start at only £110, for complete framed unique monotypes/mixed media drawings. Please get in touch for further information.

And all are welcome to join the an informal opening of the show on Sunday 30th September with a special organ recital by Philip Berg (Master of the Music at The Queen’s Chapel of the Savoy) which will include music by Handel, Bach and Widor. It commences at 4.30pm in the cathedral and promises to be a wonderful combination of beautiful music in a stunning setting.

About thetownmouse
I’m Joanna Moore, a compulsive drawer and architectural historian. I studied Architecture and History of Art at university, and completed the postgraduate Drawing Year at the Prince’s Drawing School, where I won the Patron’s Prize. I have exhibited in Spitalfields, the Tea Building in Shoreditch, the Prince’s Drawing School, and Southwark Cathedral. All my work is produced, or developed, from drawings done from observation. I never use a camera, and work on site, whatever the weather. My prints and paintings are often re-worked from these original drawings, many monotypes are created on location.
When I’m not drawing, I can be found continuing to work for Prince’s Drawing School, teaching 10-14 year-olds drawing at the Victoria & Albert Museum as part of the Prince’s Drawing Clubs, cycling through the streets of London, baking, or winding down with a Gn’T and a cat on my lap. This blog is a personal diary of my ambition to draw and make, my work, travels and inspirations.
Why the town mouse? It seemed appropriate for how I feel scampering around my favourite city and drawing on street corners.
Many thanks for the flavour.
See you on Sunday!
Amazing work Jo, and what a lovely space to exhibit in. I really wish I could make it down to see the show but I hope it’s the success it deserves to be! All the best for the opening

Loved the show, the concert and the convivial drink afterwards in the banker and barrow Boy.Your images are so much more fluent and fluid than 2 years ago in Spitalfields and the buildings have so much majesty. How can you crane your neck so to capture those high altitudes!!! And the perspective just falls naturally into place – envy, envy.Very well done. April xx
Yes, a lovely afternoon on a dull weather day. Jo continues her great works!
Met some interesting people too.
Well done team. Regards Peter & Fiona
